LED vs dvLED — what is the difference?

LED (also "video wall LCD") = tiled LCD displays with thin bezels (LG, Samsung, Sharp/NEC). Bezel gap visible up close, lower install cost, fine at 8+ feet viewing distance. dvLED (direct-view LED) = no bezels at all, each tile is a direct LED panel (Samsung The Wall, Sony Crystal LED, Just Video Walls). Pixel pitch (the distance between LEDs) determines minimum viewing distance: P1.26mm = 4ft minimum, P0.9mm = 3ft, P0.7mm = 2ft. Residential = dvLED almost always; LCD video walls are mostly commercial.
